SPARTANBURG COUNTY PRIDE WEEK BLITZ KICKOFF AT LOWE'S
MEDIA ADVISORY Volunteers to Clean Up Litter in Communities WHO: Spartanburg County Environmental Enforcement and PalmettoPride WHAT: B 93.7 will join Spartanburg County Environmental Enforcement Agency and PalmettoPride at Lowe's to kick off Spartanburg County Pride Week. People are invited to come out and enjoy good music, Papa John's pizza and Pepsi products and sign up to organize a neighborhood cleanup. Several challenges have been laid out for municipalities, community and neighborhood groups, schools and youth groups to provide beautification grant money for cleanup efforts. Trash bags, safety vests and work gloves will be provided for all volunteers. WHEN: Thursday, March 6, 2008, from noon to 2:00pm WHERE: Lowe's, 2079 E. Main Street IN ADDITION: Spartanburg County Environmental Enforcement Agency and PalmettoPride have teamed up for the 13th Pride Week Blitz, a community cleanup program under PalmettoPride's “Pickup” tract. Municipalities and residents will organize community cleanups during the week of March 8 – 15, 2007. The mission of Pride Week is to encourage citizens to get involved in cleanups and beautification projects, to increase volunteer participation in on-going cleanup efforts and to educate people on the effects of litter. PalmettoPride is committed to the eradication of litter and the promotion of beautification in South Carolina.
