SUMTER NATIONAL FOREST SEEKS VOLUNTEERS FOR CLEANUP

MEDIA ADVISORY

 

 

WHAT:            Volunteers are needed for a clean up day in the Sumter National Forest to remove illegal dumpsites and litter from the forest. Volunteers will meet at Enoree Ranger District office in Union County at 8 a.m. and will be given directions to cleanup sites. Cleanup supplies will be provided. Lunch will be provided after the cleanup for all volunteers.

 

WHEN:            Saturday, October 25, 2008. 8 a.m. – noon.

                       

WHO:              PalmettoPride and USDA Forest Service

                       

WHERE:         The cleanup will take place in the Union County portion of the Sumter National Forest.

                        Enoree Ranger District Office

OTHER:          As part of their Forest, Parks and Waterways program, PalmettoPride and the USDA Forest Service have coordinated cleanups together since 2003.  This will be the first co-sponsored cleanup in the Enoree District.
